Sawyer Strouth is a non-binary artist-printmaker currently residing in Portland, Maine. Born in a small town in Massachusetts, they thrive off of the crisp air New England provides. Strouth will obtain a BFA in printmaking in May 2026 from Maine College of Art & Design.
Relishing in the exploration of texture, color, and layering within their pieces, Strouth pushes the boundaries of their materials with experimentation in collage, monotype, and mixed media additions. With an intuitive approach to creating, they are able to let the unconscious speak through their hands and onto the page to create artwork that reflects an inner self.
Their current interest in printmaking lies in collagraph, monoprint, monotype, and wood cut, with an emphasis on abstract shapes and unconventional sizes.
